Thrift Store Score

I was looking for kids jeans and a summer top this week and found these great buys. Instant crafts for M and W. These crocheted squares can be sewn/tied together to make doll blankets. A good sewing craft for young sewers. Less than $5 for each batch.

I also found this gorgeous little baby blanket that will go to my niece's baby, along with some other lovey homemade and boughten things. I recently started making quiche, and wanted a tart pan to make them in. The next time I was at the Goodwill, I checked the housewares, and there were two lovely ceramic tart pans for $2 each. Score!

Homeschool Favorite Moments

Reading break. She is reading a lot these days. Encyclopedia Brown Mysteries and the Flower Fairies Series are favorites right now.
Favorite co-op moment today. Two brothers and a friend share the i-pad with the newest little sister.

Rainy Day

Cold and rainy. Some of the state had 12 inches of snow today, so the rain is a better alternative! Even the robins were looking for a bit of shelter.

On the Home Farm

Daughter L. was out shooting pictures while the weather was warmer last week. Not at all like the windy, overcast, cold day today. She tromps around husband's childhood home place where his mom and brother's family still live, looking for interesting shots. And she always seems to find them. Grandpa's old pickup. The neighbor's horses. The neighbors' house burned down, so the horses are visiting for awhile.

Interesting rustings.

Ballet

Miss M. passed her level one ballet exam last week.

Seventh Birthday Supper

Cousin O is 7. Happy Birthday to you! Sibling love.

Retro Cool With a Dose of Cute

A Postcard from God on Sunday. Saw this great retro van that made us smile. Love the color. The passenger was very cute too!

More Spring

Ian, Eleanor, W., Abigail

Seventy degrees! Yesterday I took some of W's friends to the park while the big girls were in Tutoring Center classes. The crocus in our front flower bed "magically" appeared this week.

Cousin Love

Daughter A. and Daughter L. are somewhat younger than any of their cousins on Husband's side. And the cousins on my side are more M. and W's age, although the big girls have a lot of fun with them, too. But God provided excellent cousin-ness of the correct age for A. and L. through Husband's first cousin's kids. Cousin Keith's three kids live a couple of miles away and have been beloved companions for tree fort making, snowplay, horseback riding, easter egg dyeing, bike riding, giggling, bible school attending, choring, Halloweening, eating, poking, teasing, and just generally cousining together. The extreme beauty of the plan is that these favorite cousins have no first cousins at all of their own. Works great on both sides. How rich we are. (l to r-Spencer , Brittney and L., last Sunday in church. This shot was not staged, this is what they were doing when I turned around.)
