Music

The three girls had their spring piano recital on Sunday with their teacher Nancy G.

We attended a children's symphony concert on Monday.

I forgot to post about the piano competition the girls were in last month.

Here they are! They all did well.

Dinner and Dance

Last weekend we helped serve our homeschool spring dinner and dance. this is a mystery dinner and round table mixer, followed by crazy games and the dance. This year there were about 45 kids.

L. and lifetime good buddy Hannah glitz it up. They both looked so pretty. Royal blue was a popular color.

L. and Friend Katie looked lovely too.

Washcloths

Recently, the girls and I were crafting things for our church breakfast and bake sale. I found this washcloth pattern on a favorite blog, Creative Jewish Mom. I like the nubby pattern and it is very easy after you learn it. You could make the cloths larger. We like smaller washcloths, and many at the sale thought these were hot pads. Whatever works.

Chain 33.
Row 1: Skip 2 chains (counts as single crochet), work 2 double crochet in next chain, *skip 2 chains, work (single crochet, 2 double crochet) in next chain; repeat from * to last 3 chains, skip 2 chains, single crochet in last chain – 10 (single crochet, 2 double crochet) pattern repeats.
Row 2: Chain 1 (counts as single crochet), turn, 2 double crochet in first single crochet, *skip 2 double crochet, (single crochet, 2 double crochet) in next single crochet; repeat from * across, single crochet in turning chain.
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 10 1/2 in. (26.5 cm) from beginning. Fasten off, and weave in ends.

Pretty Hearts

Yesterday was our last day of our homeschool co-op for the year. Last week my art classes finished up these clay heart and roses hangings for their Mothers Day gifts.




This project always delights. It is creative, easy, inexpensive and successful for all. The process is here.

April 29, 70 degrees, only a few patches of snow in the ditches here and there. Lots of branches in the area still being cleaned up after April ice storm.
