Nose to the Grindstone!

This is what the school day looked like this morning. The girls are doing well with getting their work done. I am trying to be more of a Wicked Witch of the West (with a Glinda overlay) teacher this year to get more ground covered.

Today was the first day of the Tuesday Tutoring Center classes. Last Friday was the first day of our homeschool co-op classes. Below is Mrs. B-H who administers Tutoring Center and teaches some Tutoring Center classes (as an unpaid volunteer), holds a board position as Communications Coordinator, hosts the Shakespeare camp for a week every summer at her home (and sews most of the costumes) and is the co-op high school art teacher (two classes). In her spare time she is a wife and homeschooling mother to 7 (4 still at home, 2 in college), she writes a blog, articles, textbooks and does translation work. (She is Brazilian and speaks Portuguese.) With gardening, canning, freezing, church involvement and entertaining, she keeps busy! We are fortunate to have her nearly limitless energy and talent enrich our homeschooling lives. There are many others in our group who also share with much talent and generosity. It is a great blessing!

This year the girls are taking several classes at Tutoring Center and co-op. Daughter M. , 6th grade, has American History, General Science, Mapping the World With Art, Writing, Art, Choir, Women's Choir, Geography, Logic and Gym. Daughter L., 9th grade, is taking Oral Interp/Drama, Am. Lit/Writing, Poetry in the English Language, Personal Finance, Art, Shakespeare, Choir and Women's Choir. Daughter W., 2/3rd, has Geography, Gym, Art and Choir. These outside classes add a lot to our homeschool experience.
