Planting!

April 29, 70 degrees, only a few patches of snow in the ditches here and there. Lots of branches in the area still being cleaned up after April ice storm.

Texas

Earlier this month, Husband represented the Soybean Association at a railway summit meeting in Texas. Since it was only two nights, I was able to go along. It was at a Four Seasons hotel. So nice!

A pre-meetings round of golf at the Byron Nelson course for Husband.

Lovely flowers, expensive iced tea, yummy food, beautiful spaces and spa treatments for Wife.

Sun on the last day, but rain and overcast the first couple of days. Still great, and better than snow!

Here It Comes Again

The birds were sheltering in our
downed branches right outside the window.

Snowstorm on April 22, just in time for the start
of our porch and kitchen remodel which started today!

House and School

 W. loves her stuffed animals. On this day, they were having a class on her bed.
I am deep sorting and cleaning in preparation for our kitchen remodel. We cleared the long-time box fort from the basement. It was in the dining room last night waiting to be hauled out. W. and L. had to use it just one. more. time. to finish up their school work for the day.

Cousin Craziness

Three days together during an ice storm...and still happy. The cousins had a great time together. Aldon got home from college on the last day and it all devolved from there. Crazy cousin fun.

Snow Girls

The snow just begged to be made into snowmen. During the ice storm overnight three day party, the cousin girls went out and made the cutest snow people around. The snow man has a little moustache like Keith, the cousin's dad.

Ice, Then Snow

And...we have snow. There are reports of some electricity being restored now. Luckily, we never lost power for more than an hour.

Bob Bob Bobbin'

There is always a bright side if you look for it. This is
THE fattest robin. A postcard from God in all the devastating ice.

Ice Storm Day 2

Our poor, poor trees. Our most beautiful old maples took it hard, right on top of the garage. Not too much damage to the garage though.
Our asparagus plants are wonderous looking encased in ice.
This was last night. The maple looks even worse
today after high winds and freezing rain all evening.

Ice encased spring. These buds would have been maple leaves. There were thousands of them that collected great globes of ice and brought so much of this beautiful tree down with their weight. So sad.

Above: The white tree yesterday. Below:The white tree today. Awful.
