Family Reunion

The recent rains made the trip out beautiful.
Such great colors with the wheat ripening and straw recently baled.

Cabins and nature activity. Family and crazy kids.

Heading Home from Red Wing

Redwing was lovely. As we travelled home, jet skis followed us and used our wake to jump like porpoises in the sea.

W. and her new dragon flew together all the way back home.

The other kids rode along and enjoyed the river sights.
We stopped in a cove for swimming and supper on the way home.

We did some swimming at the pool when we got back to the marina.

Hit the River!

Captain Doug pulls us out into the river. The kids enjoyed riding on the front while we drove.

On the way up the river, we saw eagles and their nest.

Luckily, W. brought her Lewis and Clark spy glass.
Occasionally we passed barges.
We experienced the locks. The river was still very high, so it did not take very long to pass through after we entered the lock.
We engaged in various cruising activities. Friend Karen and I napped.

We tied up and stayed overnight on the boat in Red Wing.

Boat Trip!

We drove up to Karen and Doug's in Stillwater, MN for a weekend on their boat. How fun! The first night we enjoyed their beautiful yard before a delicious supper.

We slept on the boat that night so we could get an easy start in the morning.

Nothing like an old friend. Karen and I were in our freshman year of college together in 1979. Still buddies.
The men lounge in the "Captain's Cabin" area. Doug has all the gadgets to make it fun to navigate. We took along:
 Girls...

Dogs...
and a boyfriend.
