While in San Antonio I took a couple of tours. The first was called "Discover San Antonio."
We visited the Spanish Governor's Palace, which is right in town. It is interesting to realize that this small adobe building was what was considered a palace when Texas was still owned by Spain. It makes you realize how stark the life must have been then.Of course it was restored, but the natural materials and simplicity were beautiful. There was also a fenced courtyard with decorative walks.
Part of the day included a walking tour of the historic district. There were many old and beautiful homes with much interesting history.
We also visited an historical church with a beautiful chancel.
