Winter Birch Trees

The last two weeks my art classes worked on Art Projects for Kids' Winter Birch Trees project.

I used this project to talk about composition. We talked about how uneven numbers of things tend to be more pleasing to the eye. We discussed how varying size and placement of elements in a composition help create interest and movement.

After finishing up the birch trees, we had time to cut out fabric hearts and decoupage them onto little rock Valentines. These are quick and fun to give friends and family.
